Meet our 2026 owlets

Keurboom Park’s resident Spotted Eagle-Owls have had another successful season. Photographer Jill V.M. Eckstein spent time in the park this year and shared these portraits of our 2026 owlets.

The young birds were photographed on a branch against a clear Cape sky — still fluffy with down, yellow eyes wide, and already showing the ear tufts that will mark them as adults.

Our owl security features work continues to protect nesting sites and habitat for these birds, alongside the wider community effort to keep the park a safe home for wildlife.
