First Keurboom Park Association newsletter

The Keurboom Park Association has launched its first newsletter, celebrating a key win for local biodiversity: the City has agreed to stop mowing alien grasses in the park and to allow stormwater ponds, giving the area a chance to recover its natural ecosystem.

Writing in the newsletter, Phil Flockton reflects on the stark decline of insects over recent decades and warns against the City's continued use of Glyphosate (Roundup), which harms birds and insects alike.

Despite the current drought, signs of life remain in the park's upper meadow—a reminder of what careful stewardship can preserve.
